It all starts with a phone briefing, where you tell me what your project needs. From that I send you a fixed quote and, if we agree, I start on the agreed proposals. From there we follow an adjustment process until we reach the final deliverable.

I'd rather you know from the start how much you'll pay and what you'll get in return, instead of billing loose hours. It's usually split into an upfront payment to get started and the rest on delivery, or in phases for longer projects.
