Graphic design in Muro, Mallorca.
Galletas Gori de Muro is a family bakery in Muro that has been baking with traditional recipes for decades. I've worked on several projects for the brand: packaging for its product bags, a full catalogue, event signage, and the branding for Stickrack, its BIO-certified multi-seed biscuit line.
Real projects done in Muro for real.
Packaging and branding for a bakery in Muro.
A bag for every variety
Gori de Muro bakes biscuits with a traditional recipe and has several star varieties: sesame, flax and chia. On the bag packaging the base is always natural, with raw and kraft tones that recall bakery paper, and each variety carries its own colour accent. That way shoppers can tell at a glance which bag they're picking up, while the range still looks like it comes from the same house. The consumer information is clear and well organised, because on food packaging that's no small detail.
Stickrack, a new line within the same house
When the bakery launched Stickrack, its BIO-certified multi-seed biscuit, it needed a brand of its own that didn't break with Gori. I chose an intense lime green on white, very different from the classic tones of the rest of the range, and a logo with a thick, rounded stroke dotted with points that recall the seeds. On the pack I prioritised the name, the chia, flax and sunflower seeds illustrated on the front, and an easy-to-read nutrition table. And I kept a nod to Gori de Muro so it would be understood as part of the family.
Catalogue, fairs and show cooking
Beyond the packaging, the brand needed pieces to sell outside the shop. I designed a product catalogue that tells Gori's story, plus signage for fairs and tastings, such as the poster and roll-up banner for the 5th Gori de Muro Show Cooking. These pieces have fixed dates, so it pays to plan them with time to spare. I work from Palma, some way from Muro, but day-to-day work runs by phone and email; when we need to look at printed proofs, we meet by appointment at Homey Group Mallorca.
A craft product like Gori de Muro's needs design that respects tradition without looking outdated. That means understanding the craft first, and only then designing for it.

Questions about graphic design in Muro.
I have a craft product with several versions. How do I tell them apart on the packaging?
With a common base and one element that changes. At Gori de Muro the base is the brand's natural tone and what changes is the colour of each variety, so the range is recognisable on the shelf and each bag stands apart from the rest. It's worth deciding this at the start, because adding varieties later is much easier when the system has already been thought through.
I'm launching a new product. Does it need its own brand, or is the company brand enough?
It depends on how far it moves away from the rest. Stickrack was a BIO-certified multi-seed biscuit, different from Gori de Muro's classic biscuits, so it got its own name, logo and colour, with a nod to the house so it didn't feel like an outsider. If the new product is just another variety, adapting your existing packaging is usually enough. A new logo starts at €600.
Do you prepare posters and a roll-up banner for a fair or a tasting?
Yes, based on the identity you already have. For Gori de Muro I designed the signage for fairs and tastings, roll-up included, keeping the same look as the packaging so the brand is recognisable on the stand. A poster starts at €60; if you need several pieces for the same event, I quote them together at a fixed price.
