Bonaire and Terras Vellas are two restaurants in Alcúdia specialising in fresh fish and seafood. For both I worked on the full branding and graphic design: logo, menus and decoration elements for the venue, aiming to capture the essence of the sea in every detail.

The same speciality, two different brands
Bonaire and Terras Vellas serve the same thing, fresh fish and seafood, in the same town. The challenge was that neither brand should look like a variant of the other. At Bonaire the symbol combines a fish and a ship's wheel, with tones that recall the sea and Mediterranean light, and elegant finishes. At Terras Vellas the logo is set in the Bantero typeface, paired with Work Sans, over a texture of blue waves and with its own Pantone blue; a circular seal with a lighthouse also appears on the wine list. Both talk about the sea, but each in its own voice.
The menu, the piece that passes through every hand
In a restaurant every customer handles the menu, so I treat it as part of the identity rather than a mere price list. For Bonaire I designed the menu in Spanish and English, with sections for paellas, fish and grilled meat, taking care over typography and layout so the presentation lived up to the produce. For Terras Vellas I made the food menu with its special set menu, and a wine list where the whites from Galicia and the reds from Rioja get their own page, alongside the rosés and cavas.
The brand takes a seat at the table too
In both restaurants the identity went beyond paper. At Bonaire it reached the venue's decoration, with applications such as mugs and coasters carrying the fish and wheel symbol. At Terras Vellas, the decoration and the business cards, with seafood motifs on the back. I work from Palma and prepare the files for each supplier; almost the whole project runs by phone and email, and if you'd like to check samples in person, we can meet by appointment at Homey Group Mallorca.
A restaurant by the sea in Alcúdia doesn't need a generic "Mediterranean cuisine" brand: it needs to convey what's actually served at the table. That only comes from knowing the place, not copying a template.

There are restaurants similar to mine nearby. How do I keep my brand from being confused with theirs?
By looking for what only your place has, starting with its name and its story. In Alcúdia I worked for two seafood restaurants and each ended up with its own symbol and its own palette. A logo starts at €600, with a fixed quote before we begin.
I already have a logo. Can you design just the menu for my restaurant?
Yes. I start from your logo and colours and design the menu to fit them. If it's in several languages or changes with the season, I take that into account in the layout, so updating it doesn't mean redoing it from scratch. The price depends on the number of pages and you get a fixed quote before we start.
Do you also design the restaurant's small pieces, such as business cards?
Yes, and they should come from the same identity as the menu. At Terras Vellas the business cards carry the logo over the blue waves on the front and seafood motifs on the back, so anyone who takes one remembers the restaurant. A single piece such as a card or a flyer starts at €60.
